वक्रगतिं गुरोः पश्य यदा भानोः परं गतः।
तदा वक्री भवेद् ग्रहः स्वकक्षायां विलोमगः॥
vakragatim guroḥ paśya yadā bhānoḥ paraṃ gataḥ
tadā vakrī bhaved grahaḥ svakakṣāyāṃ vilomagaḥ

On a particular day—different each year—Jupiter's apparent motion through the zodiac hits zero. The planet that's been moving steadily eastward against the background stars pauses. Then it reverses.
