Frequently asked questions
What is a Panchang?
A Panchang is the daily almanac of the Hindu calendar. Its five limbs are worked out from the positions of the Sun and the Moon, and vrats, festivals and muhurats are set from them.
Where do I see today's and tomorrow's Panchang?
The full day is on Panchang Today, and the plan for the next day is on Panchang Tomorrow. Both are calculated from sunrise in the city you choose.
Why does the same tithi sometimes fall on two days?
A day takes the name of the tithi running at sunrise. A tithi that spans two sunrises covers two days, which is called vriddhi. A tithi that touches no sunrise names no day, which is called a kshaya tithi.
All times follow sunrise and sunset in New Delhi, astronomically computed.
