    Sip water three times from your right palm while chanting "Om Keshavaya Namah", "Om Narayanaya Namah", "Om Madhavaya Namah".

    Hold the ritual items

    In your right hand, take water, akshat (unbroken rice grains), flowers, and a small coin (dakshina). Hold your right wrist with your left hand.

    Face East or North. For Pitru karmas (Shraddha, Tarpan), face South.
