- Several clock times circulate (07:08, 07:09, 07:12, 07:33 and 07:45 local mean time, plus 08:36 that is 07:45 restated in Indian Standard Time) and none traces to a birth record, horoscope or family statement; the adopted 07:45 is B. V. Raman's figure in Notable Horoscopes, which names no source, and the 07:08 group, which puts late Libra rather than early Scorpio on the ascendant, is attributed to collections of similar standing.

- Porbandar was a Kathiawar princely state with no standard time in 1869 and the published times are stated in local mean time (Raman writes L.M.T.), so the offset is the town's longitude times 4 minutes; zoneinfo's Asia/Kolkata shows Howrah Mean Time (UTC+5:53:20) for 1869, but that was the time kept at Calcutta and did not apply in Kathiawar.
