The move
At 10:32 pm Indian Standard Time on 5 December 2026, Rahu moves from Aquarius into Capricorn, and Ketu from Leo into Cancer. They stay there until 24 June 2028, about 18 months, which is roughly how long the two take over every sign. Rahu and Ketu always move backward through the zodiac, so their next signs are Sagittarius and Gemini.
This page uses the mean node, as the Rashifal 2027 book does. Some almanacs use the true node, which wobbles around it, so the date they give for the move can differ by days or weeks.

Why 2027's eclipses fall in Capricorn and Cancer
Rahu and Ketu are the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's. An eclipse needs the Sun and the Moon to line up near one of them. With the axis on Capricorn and Cancer all year, both solar eclipses of 2027 fall in these two signs, and so do two of the three lunar eclipses.
- 6 February: Annular solar eclipse in Capricornon the axis
- 21 February: Penumbral lunar eclipse in Leo
- 18 July: Penumbral lunar eclipse in Capricornon the axis
- 2 August: Total solar eclipse in Canceron the axis
- 17 August: Penumbral lunar eclipse in Capricornon the axis
The 2 August solar eclipse, in Cancer, is the one India will see, as a partial eclipse.
Your own axis
The table counts from the Moon sign, so it is the same for everyone born under it. In your own chart the axis also crosses houses counted from your Lagna, and it weighs more while you are running a Rahu or Ketu dasha. The free first look of Rashifal 2027 reads it from your birth details.

When do Rahu and Ketu change sign?
On 5 December 2026, at 10:32 pm Indian Standard Time: Rahu moves from Aquarius into Capricorn and Ketu from Leo into Cancer. Their next move is on 24 June 2028, into Sagittarius and Gemini.
Where is Rahu in 2027?
In Capricorn, all year. Rahu enters Capricorn on 5 December 2026 and stays until 24 June 2028.
Where is Ketu in 2027?
In Cancer, all year, always opposite Rahu. Ketu enters Cancer on 5 December 2026 and stays until 24 June 2028.
How long will Rahu stay in Capricorn?
About 18 months: from 5 December 2026 to 24 June 2028. Rahu and Ketu spend roughly that long in every sign.
Why are eclipses linked to Rahu and Ketu?
Rahu and Ketu mark the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's. An eclipse can only happen when the Sun and the Moon line up near one of these points, so eclipses always fall near the axis. In 2027 both solar eclipses fall in Capricorn and Cancer.
Why does another calendar give a different date for the move?
It may use the true node instead of the mean node. The true node wobbles around the mean one, so its sign changes can come days or weeks apart. This page, like the Rashifal 2027 book, uses the mean node.
