Saturn leaves these four signs alone in 2027

  • Gemini (Mithun)
  • Cancer (Kark)
  • Libra (Tula)
  • Scorpio (Vrishchik)

No Sade Sati and no Dhaiya all year, and none from 23 February 2028 either.

Why it pauses: Saturn steps forward, then back

Saturn has been in Pisces since March 2025. On 3 June 2027 it crosses into Aries, and that crossing moves Sade Sati and Dhaiya on to the next Moon signs. But Saturn turns retrograde on 9 August and, still moving backward, slips into Pisces again on 20 October. It turns direct on 24 December and enters Aries for good on 23 February 2028.

The dates are to scale; the distance from the dividing line only shows direction.

So the new arrangement holds for four and a half months, and then the old one returns until late February 2028. If your Sade Sati or Dhaiya "ends" or "begins" in 2027, read the dates on your card: in most cases it is a pause or a preview, not the final word.

Saturn was last in Aries from April 1998 to June 2000. Anyone born after mid-2000 has not lived through Saturn in Aries before.

Better than you fear

Sade Sati is the most feared stretch in Indian astrology, and much of that fear comes from how it is sold. Classically, Saturn is the planet of effort, patience and accountability. Its seven and a half years tend to bring slower results, heavier responsibilities and a clearer sense of what is and isn't working, not catastrophe.

Many people look back on their Sade Sati as the years they built something lasting: a career on firmer ground, habits that held, relationships tested and kept. How heavy it feels depends on your whole chart, especially the dasha you are running, not on the Moon sign alone.

What Saturn asks in each phase

The phase matters more than the label. Here is what each one classically asks of you.

  • Sade Sati, first phase

Saturn in the sign before your Moon sign

Expenses, sleep and time away from home ask for attention. It is a time to cut what drains you and to plan, more than to launch.

  • Sade Sati, peak

    Saturn over your Moon sign

The heaviest phase for mind and body. Keep your routines steady, take on fewer commitments and keep the ones you make.

  • Sade Sati, final phase

Saturn in the sign after your Moon sign

Money, family and speech need care. Spend carefully and choose your words; the weight is lifting.

  • Kantaka Dhaiya (4th from the Moon)

Saturn 4th from your Moon sign

Home, property and peace of mind need looking after. Avoid big changes made in a hurry.

  • Ashtama Dhaiya (8th from the Moon)

Saturn 8th from your Moon sign

Sudden changes and health deserve attention. Avoid shortcuts in anything that matters.

Traditional upay for Saturn

These are the classical ways of meeting Saturn, kept simple. None of them is a purchase.

  • On Saturdays, light a mustard-oil lamp under a peepal tree.
  • Recite the Hanuman Chalisa, or the Shani mantra "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah", with a steady routine.
  • Give to those who labour: food, black sesame, mustard oil or warm clothing, especially to the elderly.
  • Keep your dealings honest and your work disciplined; tradition holds this is what Saturn rewards most.

These remedies are drawn from classical texts and are shared for educational purposes. They are not a substitute for medical, financial, or legal advice.

Sade Sati 2027: questions and answers

Which rashi have Sade Sati in 2027?

Does Aquarius (Kumbh) Sade Sati end in 2027?

Not for good. It pauses on 3 June when Saturn enters Aries, resumes on 20 October when Saturn returns to Pisces, and ends on 23 February 2028.

Does Taurus (Vrishabh) Sade Sati start in 2027?

It begins on 3 June, pauses from 20 October, and returns on 23 February 2028 when Saturn settles in Aries. From then, Taurus is in the first phase.

About two and a half years each, roughly the time Saturn takes to cross one sign, so the whole Sade Sati lasts about seven and a half years. In 2027 the phases change twice, on 3 June and 20 October, because Saturn crosses the line between Pisces and Aries twice.

Is Sade Sati always bad?

No. It is a period of effort and accountability, and its weight depends on your whole chart, especially your dasha. Many people do their most lasting work in these years.
